Helen Taylor
I graduated from Wrexham College of Art & Design in 1987 and gained employment in Advertising Agencies as a Finished Artist. In 1991 I moved to Scotland and worked as a Senior Visual Arts Assistant in the MacRobert Arts Centre, Stirling University. Returned to North Wales and took a break from art to become a full-time mum to three daughters. In 2007 returned to college part-time to do art refresher courses as well as gain a teaching qualification.
Since 2007 I have been the Art Tutor for D.A.F.F.O.D.I.L.S. a Mold based charity for children with learning difficulties. In February 2011 set up my Art Club for Children for aged 7 upwards holding workshops in Denbigh Library, Flint Library, Mold, Mynydd Isa, and Prestatyn. I also do adult beginners classes in drawing and painting working with small groups, also 1:1 art therapy sessions, with experience of working with adults with dementia.
My own work is inspired by the landscape and creating a sense of place. I use mixed media and always looking out for new techniques and experimenting with different materials. Some of my work is semi-abstract, and I also enjoy drawing and photography.
Being invited to join the Cilcain Artisans has been a wonderful experience for me, giving me the confidence to promote myself as a artist with support, advice and encouragement from my fellow Artisans.
